AGAPE GREAT COMMISSION ASSOCIATION

WHO WE ARE

Agape Great Commission Association is an Evangelical Local Christian Mission Agency serving in the Democratic Republic of Congo and beyond. Our passion is to see God’s love displayed in a wholistic manner in the life of many marginalized people (women and children at risk, refugees, internally displaced people, and people born with disabilities.) All should be viewed and treated as created in the image and likeness of God, called to worship him in spirit and truth.

1 John 3:16 “By this we know [and have come to understand the depth and essence of His precious] love: that He [willingly] laid down His life for us [because He loved us]. And we ought to lay down our lives for the believers.” (AMP).

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to make God’s Agape known in the DRC and other parts of Africa, depending on the power of the Holy Spirit for it to materialize on a daily-basis.

OUR VISION

It is our vision to unify and awake a broken Christian body in a culture where Agape is forgotten through intentional actions of love to all without discrimination.

STATEMENT OF BELIEF

Our Lord Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, His virgin birth, His sinless human life, His divine miracles, His vicarious and atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension, His mediatorial work, and His personal return in power and glory.

The Bible: We believe the Bible as revealed in the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, are authoritative, inspired and infallible Word of God.

God: The one true God, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, has revealed Himself as creator, eternally existent” I AM”, redeemer of mankind.

Jesus-Christ: is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Spirit, and born of virgin Mary (Isaiah7:14, Matthew 3:16-17), that Jesus Christ died on the cross, and was buried and raised from the dead, that He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as our intercessor.

The Holy Spirit: the Lord and giver of life, who proceed from the Father and the Son; who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified (John 14:16-17)

Man: Man was created in the image and likeness of God, but fell by voluntary transgression and his only hope of redemption and salvation is in Jesus Christ; that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God, that repentance is commanded of God for all, and is necessary for forgiveness of sin; that Salvation, new birth, and justification are wrought by the grace of God, and faith in the LORD Jesus-Christ and the renewing work of the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:26-31; 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21; 6:23; 10:13; Titus 2:11, 3:5-7)

Salvation: Inward evidence of Salvation, new birth and justification to the believer is the direct witness of the Spirit, and the outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and holiness (Romans 8:16; 12:1-2)

The Church: is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfilment of His Great Commission; and that a divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry have the two-fold purposes of evangelization of the world and the edifying of the body of Christ (Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:19-22; Hebrews 12:23; Mark 16:15-20; Ephesians 4:11-13).

The LORD Super: It is consisting of the elements of bread and the fruit of the wine, is a memorial of His sufferings and death and a prophecy of His second coming, and will be enjoined by all believers, “until He comes” (Luke 22:17-20; 1 Corinthians 10:16,17; 11: 23-32).

8 CORE VALUES

 1.     Prayer: Dynamic Encounter with God to get the power we need to express love to one another.

2.     Loving Relationships: It involves expressing affection, desire, and attraction towards one another (respect each other, trust one another, communicate well with one another, enjoy one another’s company).

3.     Discipleship: As followers of Christ, we are called to be disciples who make disciples. This means constantly growing in our faith and helping others to do the same.

4.     Authentic Community:  God created us to be in a relationship with Him and with others. As Christians, we are called to live in community, supporting, encouraging, and building each other up (Hebrews 10:24-25)

5.     Service (Servant Leadership): Jesus came as a servant to lay His life down for us. He didn’t seek a position of earthly power or be waited on by others. Rather, He came to serve. To wash feet. To love and care for those in need (Mark 10:45).

6.     Humility: Humility should be the mark of the Christian. Christ came to us in deep humility, and we are called to follow His footsteps. (Philippians 2:3-4).

7.     Unity: As believers we are all part of one body with Christ as our head. We are called to live in unity and love with one another, despite our differences (Ephesians 4:3).

8.     Stewardship: Everything we have belongs to God, and we are called to be good stewards of what He has entrusted to us. This includes our time, talents, resources, and finances.
